What is IDW Freight?

With e-commerce sales growing year on year, it’s no surprise that courier services are on the rise. No matter the shape or size of your freight, there is a carrier for you, and IDW freight is no exception!

What is IDW freight?

IDW freight stands for irregular dimension and weight freight, often referred to as large, non-standard, or even bulky freight. From large but light items such as mattresses, to sizeable items, such as home furnishings, IDW freight can be varied, but are essential purchases that consumers make daily.

Courier for Large Items

Finding IDW delivery specialists can be a discouraging task. IDW freight will often be overlooked by carriers due to being too heavy, or substantial in size. However, we believe that IDW deliveries are just as important as the smaller, ‘shoebox-sized’ parcels and should receive the same courier experience.

At AG Star, our robust network has been designed for the delivery of bulky items. Using a manual sortation process, eliminating the use of roller belts, we can efficiently transport your items with minimal touchpoints and reduced damages.

A short story about us

At AG Star Imports UK Ltd we pride ourselves on our capacity to offer our customers personalised logistics administration intended not only to deal with the complexities of their cargo and global network but to understand their business and design fitting solutions to any requirements.

We began trading in October 2017 as a family founded business with the launch of our London office, located in close proximity to the Canary Wharf. Just four months later we opened our secondary location in Cambridge, just minutes away from the City Centre. Our locations provide your business with greater global reach and convenience.

Our partners include B&Q, Wickes, Lapwing and Tyres On Line.

Following AEO(F) compliance accreditation in March 2020, we inaugurated our ETSF warehouse located in Birmingham. To date we have a 36,000 square foot warehouse, fulfilment capability and customs inhouse to handle ETSF clearances.

Since Brexit AG Star Imports has become a leader in customs declarations and at the forefront of the CDS rollout. With our Authorised Consignee/Consignor status, T1 guarantee, NCTS and GVMS capability – we handle everything for our clients in house, keeping excellent customer service at the forefront of our business.
